ABOUT US

Culture&Arts for Love&Living (CALL) is a non-governmental arts organisation which works in development of the cultural industries sector. CALL is dedicated to collaborative working, trade, business to business opportunities and south – south cooperation, towards advancing the development of the creative and cultural industries in Barbados and the global south.

In this regard, CALL works with an expanding group of creatives, arts managers and cultural administrators across the world.

Founded in April 2019, a major project of CALL Barbados is the producing The Bridgetown International Arts Festival. Call Barbados also provides business development and resource mobilization services to a range of creatives. 

At CALL Barbados, we are dedicated to supporting and promoting art and culture in the global south. Our team works tirelessly to develop the cultural industries sector, providing a platform for artists and creators to thrive and showcase their talents. We are committed to making a difference and enriching lives through the power of arts and culture.

  • The Bridgetown International Arts Festival since 2020

  • Founding executive member of South South Collective, based in Jamaica

  • Panellist, UNESCO Conference of Parties for the 2005 Convention on Cultural Diversity and protection of Cultural Expressions, Paris 2019, 

  • Facilitation of THRIVE ‘Status of the Artist’ conversations during the lockdown between April and July 2020. THRIVE was produced by South South Collective, the CALL Barbados counterpart in Jamaica

  • Facilitation of the UNESCO ResiliArt series 2020 (Caribbean)

  • Education services to the Barbados Community College

  • Chairing two sessions in the IFACCA Americas Cultural Summit 2021, online

  • Facilitator, the National Consultation on Film, Barbados

  • Coordination of the GAC International Conference on Reparations, Barbados 2022

  • Facilitator, National Film Consultation, Barbados, 2022

  • Coordnation, Riches Karayibe, Barbados leg, 2023.

  • Moderator – panel discussion to mark the UN Day for the Remembrance of the Trans-Atlantic 

  • Barbados Coalition of Service Industries one-day consultation on the business aspect of the orange economy, 2023
